Jerome tries to deal with his father’s death and move on with life. Despite his efforts to move on, Jerome still appears as an absurd character in the story. List examples of what Jerome says and does that indicate that he is an absurd character.

Explain why “A Shocking Accident” is an ironic title for Greene’s story. It is ironic the title, because at first you think that the story will be about a tragic accident, and then it is about that a pig fell over someone and he died. It is ironic because of the way that the accident occurred. Jerome is faced with a problem not of his making. Describe what happened and why it has become a problem for Jerome. Then, tell how you would feel about this shocking accident if you were Jerome and had to explain the situation to friends.

The problem is that his father had died because a pig fell over him, and he don’t know how to tell the people the story about how his father had died because he feels embarrassed about the story. I wouldn’t feel embarrassed about how my father had died and I would not be ashamed to tell other people the way the accident occurred, instead I will feel very sad to think my father is not with me.

They both reveals elements of social criticism. In the Rocking Horse Winner it criticize in the way that he puts the element of a society and the ambitions that people have. In a Shocking Accident it shows that society doesn’t value life.

That she is a very romantic person. In the poem she demonstrates how she expresses his love to his husband in an exagerated way.

Real Madrid last Champions League was in the 2000’s and before that they spend like 40 years without winning any Champions League, instead Barcelona last Champions was in 2009 and before that in 2006.

Barcelona may not have the same history as Real Madrid, or the same titles, but they are a much more team than Real Madrid. They have a unique style when they play that no team in the world has. They play as a team, making a thousand of passes per game, and all of them full with accuracy. That is one of the many reasons, which make Barcelona the best team in the world.

Real Madrid, per season, spends a huge amount of money, more than any team in the world. They spend this money in transfers, and almost all of the players they hire do not function. Barcelona instead of buying players, they make them. They work on the young players to make stars in the future.

Barcelona, actually, has the best players in the world. They have the best midfielders in the world, Xavi and Iniesta, and of coarse they have the best player in the world who is Lionel Messi. Instead, Real Madrid, since the retire of Zinedine Zidane, there have been a few players that have made legend.

In conclusion, Barcelona is not only better than Real Madrid, but also is the best team in the world. It doesn’t matter what history Real Madrid has, actually Barcelona has made a page in history which Real Madrid will never be able to have.

Giant Sinkhole

Thousands of years ago, in the land where now is Guatemala, was a giant monster, about 50 meters of height and weight like 60 000 pounds. This giant monster was named by the local Mayas that lived in Guatemala back then; they put the monster the name of KOLOKETO which in Mayan means Giant Nightmare. KOLOKETO was similar to the human being, but it skin was red with black spots, he also was really intelligent, almost as intelligent as human beings are. KOLOKETO made the lives of the Mayas a living nightmare because he always destroyed all of the things the Mayas possessed. When they built any kind of thing, from little houses to giant temples, KOLOKETO always destroyed them, for example when they build a temple, KOLOKETO instantly destroy it by only putting his feet on. KOLOKETO was so empty hearted that he waited until the Mayas built completely the things so then he will have more fun destroying everything. KOLOKETO’s hobby was killing the Mayas. Approximately he killed daily 50 persons, he killed them by throwing them through the air, by kicking them, and by crushing them with their feet.  

They Mayas believed that KOLOKETO was a monster sent by their gods to punish them the way they behave and also because they didn´t worship them the way they wanted, so  the Mayas had the belief that KOLOKETO was send to Earth to make the lives of the Mayas a  complete nightmare. Actually scientists believe that KOLOKETO may have been an extraterrestrial that accidently fall to Earth, the evidence they have are the bones of the monster, they find the bones in the giant sinkhole which is located in Guatemala. The bones are not of the same material as the creatures in Earth; instead they are like stone, but something curious about the bones of KOLOKETO is that they are not as hard as the bones of the creatures on Earth, they can easily get broken.

The giant sinkhole that is located in Guatemala is said that was a trap which the Mayas built to kill KOLOKETO. The Mayas built the sinkhole because they somehow realize that the bones of KOLOKETO were fragile. The legend says that the Mayas were so desperate because they always lived full with fear thinking of KOLOKET all the time, that one day they decide to make a plan to kill it. At first they planed to drown KOLOKETO but it was useless because KOLOKETO swimed perfectly so it was useless that they plan to drown him, other thing they tried was to burn KOLOKETO, but as soon as KOLOKETO realize what they were trying to do, he decided to burn a complete city, killing all the people who lived on it, but the last plan they made was perfect, they plan to pretend to worship KOLOKETO to attract him to the city and then they built a giant hole in the earth, legends says that 5000 people help to build the giant hole, that is why is enormous, then they covered up the hole with fragile wood and in top of the wood they put some leaves, so the trap was invisible. When KOLOKETO showed up in the village and saw how they were “worshiping” him, he felt proud that a complete city was on his knees. Then the chief of the city told KOLOKETO to follow him to a statue that they supposedly built for him but instead there was the trap. When KOLOKETO was walking to see the statue he suddenly felt into the trap and died.

To me it is very sad to see poor kids, begging for money in the streets, it is something that I do not tolerate and I see that the government is “fighting” against it. I think that we should start to act in order to fight all these things that is making our country incapable of progressing, I am sure that my plan will work, I have measured all the risks that it takes and it has a 80% that it will actually work. The government of Guatemala will be proud of a country that is following the example they are giving, so I tell all the citizens of Guatemala that they must help the government in the  way I propose, because we will not only help our country to progress but also to satisphy the government who always worries about us.
